STUDENT INFORMATION

Disabilities

The School is committed to providing access and equity to students with a disability. Kaplan Business School asks that all students inform them of any disability, health condition (physical or mental), or personal situation which may adversely affect their learning or ability to adjust to living in Australia. This is so that the School can assess its responsibilities for providing appropriate teaching and learning supports, and the provision of physical access for students with disabilities prior to enrolment. If the School assesses (in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992) that it is unable to provide a modification or support service requested by the student, the School will contact the student and suggest a possible alternative.

Students with disabilities can speak with the Student Services Manager regarding their learning and access requirements.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy Support

Language, literacy and numeracy skills will be assessed as part of the application process. International students will be asked to submit a recognised English language test certificate (for example, IELTS or TOEFL) when applying for entry into one of our courses. Students who encounter literacy, language or numeracy difficulties at any time during their course can request assistance from their lecturer or seek advice from the Program Manager.

Credit Transfer

If students feel they are eligible for credit for academic work that they have previously completed, then they should apply for this to be recognised as an exemption from individual units of study. Kaplan Business School may grant credit for units passed at other recognised institutions if:

  • They are considered equivalent in content and standard to those offered by Kaplan Business School and they are relevant to the planned course of study.

Students applying for credit transfer in Part 2 of the Diploma can only be granted credit for up to a maximum of four units of study (50% of Part 2).

Applications for credit transfer must be made with the application form and must be accompanied by the course outlines and certified copies of academic transcripts for each unit of study for which you are applying for credit or exemption. Credit transfer assessments are charged at a rate of $75 per unit of study. International students should be aware that they are required to study full-time as a condition of their student visa.
