Tuition Fees
There are 5 specialised Diploma courses and a generic Diploma to choose from. Specialisations include:
Diploma of Commerce
- Major in Accounting
- Major in Finance
- Major in Management
- Major in Marketing
- Major in Entrepreneurship.
The Diploma can be undertaken as a two year course with multiple entry points. Students' performance in previous studies will determine whether they begin at Part 1 or Part 2.
The Diploma of Commerce is a 24 month full-time course requiring successful completion of 13 units of study across 24 months. Most students who have successfully completed year 12 in Australia or equivalent will be given credit for Part 1 and enter at Part 2.
All students complete the core units of study and a selection of electives.
Successful students graduate with a credential in business, and the opportunity to proceed into the second year of a Bachelor Degree at a recognised university.
Our innovative unit offerings in Entrepreneurship and Franchising will engage you in the world of business so that when you recognise a promising business opportunity you will have the confidence and key managerial skills to fulfil your dream of starting and successfully running your own enterprise. You will be involved in projects and learning experiences which will excite you and prepare you well for operating in the world of business.
If you are keen to start your own business, franchising gives you support and help, and most of all a brand which takes care of itself while you learn to run the business. You will also learn how to successfully operate a franchise. As franchising becomes more popular so does the professionalism of franchise operators through education.
This Diploma will give students a competitive advantage in the real world enabling students to graduate with not only the knowledge but also the concrete skills to operate a successful business venture.
Note: Diploma of Commerce students are enrolled in a Bradford College course, delivered by Kaplan Business School.

Contact Hours
Full-time – 20 contact hours per week / 5 contact hours per unit of study

On campus: part-time, full-time
* Note – international students are required to study full-time as a condition of their student visa.
Assessment
Assessment is an integral part of the learning process at Kaplan Business School. Assessment includes all essays, tests, presentations, exams and any other work set during the semester.
Diploma PART 1 – Pre-University Level
Students study five units over the year
Units of Study (Domestic Students – compulsory)
- Introduction to Economics
- Essential Mathematics and Basic Statistics or Mathematical Methods
- Introductory Computing and Information Systems
- Communication and Critical Thinking
- Introduction to Accounting
Units of Study (International Students – compulsory)
- English for Academic Purpose
- Communication and Critical Thinking
And three electives chosen from:
- Introduction to Economics
- Essential Mathematics and Basic Statistics or Mathematical Methods
- Introductory Computing and Information Systems
- Introduction to Accounting.
Diploma PART 2 – Year 1 University Level
Students study eight units over the year (four per semester).
Core Units of Study (all students study a core of four units):
- Quantitative Analysis in Business
- Microeconomics
- Accounting for Managers
- Macroeconomics.

(students select four elective units of study depending on their major):
- Mathematics for Finance
