Sydney, the capital city of the state of New South Wales, is the oldest settlement in Australia with world-famous icons such as the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. The city is set around a stunning natural harbour and features many beautiful beaches, multicultural restaurants and an array of international shopping destinations. Sydney is Australia’s largest city with a population of 4.3 million people and it hosts a concentrated corporate centre at the forefront of business in Australia and many tourist attractions.

Sydney is a global city with great diversity and many cultural influences. As the city enjoys so many days of sunshine and blue skies, there are a multitude of activities to enjoy that make the most out of being outdoors. Some of these social activities include perusing one of Sydney’s many markets, a quick weekend trip to one of the city’s natural outer regions, surfing, bushwalking or skiing.

Sydney has a temperate climate and therefore does not experience extremes of cold and heat, making it very enjoyable all year round.

Spring:   September – November,
   warm and sunny

Summer:December – February,
19-26 Degrees Celsius
hot and humid, with occasional rain

Autumn: March – May,
 beautifully sunny, cool nights

Winter:   June – August,
   8-16 Degrees Celsius
   fairly cool, no snow.
